disruptive type

02-01-2019

In a nutshell:

Weird typefaces, stretched typefaces, ugly typefaces, illegible typefaces. ‘Disruptive Type’ is the experimental use of typefaces as a core design feature. In a world of Helvetica and Futura, using alternative fonts is a way to stand out, some even being purposely difficult to read to slow readers down and make people think?

Influences are far reaching but a pattern of sci-fi crossed with Japanese calligraphy is a dominant theme. Yep, you heard it here first.
